WordPress booking for tattoo shops
Inkdesk connects to WordPress with the Inkdesk Booking plugin plus a one-time 6-digit connect code from Cabinet → Settings → Website & embed → Connect → WordPress (Download plugin / Generate connect code). You never paste a raw API key into WordPress. Once connected, drop the Gutenberg block, [inkdesk] shortcode, or Elementor widget on a Book page so clients pick artists and slots from live availability and pay deposits when your shop requires them. How do I connect WordPress to Inkdesk?
In Cabinet → Settings → Website & embed → Connect → WordPress: Download plugin, then Generate connect code (expires in 15 minutes). Activate Inkdesk Booking on WordPress 6+, open Settings → Inkdesk, and paste the One-time connect code. No sk_ API keys in the theme.
Step 1 · Where should clients book?
One platform at a time. Progress: Choose → Configure → Go live.
Paste the code from Cabinet → Settings → Website & embed → Connect → WordPress.
After Go live shows the code and the plugin connects, add the Inkdesk Gutenberg block, [inkdesk] shortcode, or Elementor widget on your Book page. Accent and widget mode follow the cabinet.

What do clients see on a WordPress Book page?
Clients get the same Inkdesk booking flow as the hosted page: artist and style selection, live availability from your shop rules, contact details, and—when the appointment needs a deposit—Stripe Connect checkout on your shop’s connected account. Simple flash can move toward deposit pending quickly; custom work can go through review and quote first.

The widget is shadow-DOM isolated so your theme CSS does not break the booking UI. Allowed origins and widget config on the Inkdesk side control which domains can embed booking for your tenant.
Staff still run confirmed bookings from the cabinet with Google login—WordPress is only the public surface, not a second calendar.
Plugin vs script vs hosted link—what should we use?
Prefer the plugin when you want block/shortcode placement and a connect-code flow that keeps keys out of the editor. Use the script embed when you are on a locked-down host or a page builder that only accepts Custom HTML. Use iframe when a host strips scripts. Use the hosted book page when Instagram, Linktree, or Google Business is your main entry and the WordPress site is secondary.

Do I paste an API key into WordPress?
No. In Cabinet → Settings → Website & embed → Connect → WordPress use Generate connect code and paste it into Settings → Inkdesk. The plugin binds the site connection that way.
Does it work with Elementor and Gutenberg?
Yes. Use the Gutenberg block, the [inkdesk] shortcode, or the Elementor widget after the site is connected.
What if we cannot install plugins?
