After a booking exists

Staff work the appointment in the cabinet (Today, Requests, Calendar). Walk-ins should be entered into the same state machine so the day board stays honest.

When a deposit is required, payment confirmation transitions the booking to confirmed and can fan out calendar and notification side effects.
